The match to be played at the Lord's in London was organized with the intention of raising funds for the reconstruction of two stadiums in the Caribbean that were damaged by Hurricanes.
Comprising of players from around the world,ICC World XI are a better balanced outfit and have more in-form players.
The team will be led by Shahid Afridi who takes over England's Eoin Morgan ruled out of this match by a fractured finger.
The squad includes four players from England (Sam Billings, Sam Curran, Tymal Mills and Adil Rashid)two players each from India (Dinesh Karthik and Mohammed Shami), Pakistan (Shahid Afridi ,Shoaib Malik), and New Zealand (Luke Ronchi,Mitchell McClenaghan).
Sandeep Lamichhane from Nepal is also in the team due to his impressive performance in the IPL.The ICC World XI squad does not feature any South African this time round.
Ronchi from New Zealand could open the batting and is expected to keep wickets.
The ICC World XI have won one and lost two out of the three T20 internationals they have played so far.
All three of those games were played against Pakistan in Lahore in September 2017.
Captain Carlos Brathwaite will lead the West Indies squad that boasts of star players like Andre Russell, Marlon Samuels, Chris Gayle and Samuel Badree.
Chris Gayle and ICC WORLD XI are likely to open the batting with Andre Fletcher and Marlon Samuels taking up number three and four positions respectively. Denesh Ramdin will be behind the stumps.
West Indies have played a T20 international at this ground before when they played India in the 2009 ICC World T20 and took a comfortable seven-wicket victory,this history is definately going to give them alot of confidence going into this match.
